Before providing any kind of abortion care, we always give a pregnancy test to confirm the pregnancy.  

We also give our patients a pelvic exam. This helps us to understand the overall health of your reproductive system, as well as look out for any signs that you could be at higher risk for complications so we can prepare for that. 

It’s not always easy to tell on your own exactly how far along in your pregnancy you are. With an onsite physician-reviewed ultrasound, we can find out how long you’ve been pregnant and see which abortion method you qualify for. This ultrasound is included in the price of abortion, no extra cost. 

At CARE Colorado, we want all of our patients to have the facts and information they need to make an informed decision. We’ll never pressure you toward one way or the other, but we will answer any questions you have and give you the information you need to make the choice that is best for you. 

We provide all of the medicine you need at no extra cost. This includes pain medication, sedatives, antibiotics, and any other medicine you take before, during, and after as a result of the procedure. 

In addition to providing the information you need, we’re here to support you as well. We know that not everyone is lucky enough to have a support system around them, and we want to be there for you. We provide private counseling to empower you in whichever decision you make. We don’t provide abortion care to patients unless we are sure that they are not being coerced into the decision. We’ll talk it through with you so that you can make an informed decision of your own free will. 

We have a comfortable recovery space for you to relax in after your procedure. It allows you to recover, and us to monitor you to ensure everything has gone well and there are no complications. Your recovery time will vary depending on which procedure you get, and once it’s done you’ll be free to leave. 

Post abortion care will depend on your type of procedure. We’ll give you any medication you need, such as antibiotics, as well as recovery instructions like what activities to avoid and for how long. We’ll also schedule a follow up visit with you where we will check to be sure the pregnancy is terminated and also check for any complications.
